Curious about starting an FCA club team?
In 2022, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes launched a new pillar of ministry: Club and League Sports. Over the past five years, we have developed teams focused on growth in character, relationships, leadership, and faith, while competing at a high level in the club sports environment. If you believe in the “why” but are curious about the “how,” the three key components needed to launch a new team are coaches to lead, places to play, and athletes ready to compete.
COACHES TO COACH
The first thing needed to launch a new FCA club team is coaches who are committed to walking with Jesus and who see sport as an opportunity for discipleship and ministry. Our coaches strive to develop the whole athlete by investing in their growth physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Through competition, training, and team culture, FCA coaches lead by example and use every moment as an opportunity to point athletes toward Christ.

PLACES TO PLAY
When considering launching a new FCA club team, one important factor is finding places to train and compete. As teams grow beyond local community leagues, securing consistent practice and game space can become difficult. This often creates opportunities to partner with local churches, many of which have gyms or fields that support ministry-focused programs. FCA staff can help explore potential facility partnerships and rental spaces both within churches and throughout the community.
PLAYERS TO PLAY
One of the most exciting parts of launching a new FCA club team is gathering athletes to compete. Some teams are formed through tryouts, while others begin with a preexisting group of athletes and families who are ready to build something together. Every team creates an opportunity for outreach, relationships, and discipleship within the competitive sports environment. FCA Sports aims to create teams where athletes can grow in their skills, compete with excellence, and be encouraged in their faith alongside their teammates and coaches.
